High strength edge glued pine from Northern Sweden’s sandy soils
Lamtech’s edge glued pine is strong, stable and visually appealing. By sourcing pine grown in Northern Sweden’s sandy soils, we use timber from slow grown trees with tight annual rings. This results in material that stays straight, is less prone to splitting and rarely cups. The slow growth also produces higher density timber. We always source timber with a low moisture content of 9 to 14%, which provides additional benefits and supports both strength and long term durability. In short, it means consistently high quality across our timber products.

What grades of edge glued panels are available?
Lamtech manufactures edge glued panels in accordance with the Swedish standard for furniture grade edge glued panels. This means the panels are produced in different grades. Lamtech is a craft based timber manufacturer where hands on supervision is a natural part of the process. In practical terms, any timber that has distorted or does not meet the required quality is continuously removed during production. This careful process results in timber products that rarely lead to claims.
Today, our edge glued panels are available in three grades, most commonly A, B and C. One face is usually better than the other, typically supplied as A/B, A/C or B/C. If your product or manufacturing process requires matching faces, we can also supply panels with the same grade on both sides. We can solve most requirements.

FAQ
What is edge glued panel?
Edge glued panels are made by bonding timber laminations together into a solid wood panel using high heat and pressure. The result is a timber product well suited for joinery, trims, exterior cladding, decking and stair components, to name just a few applications. At Lamtech, we can manufacture edge glued panels to your requirements, whether you need thinner panels or more substantial thicknesses, or if you are looking for widths up to 1,310 mm. Whether you are a professional carpenter, a purchaser for a construction company or a private customer, you are welcome to get in touch.
What grades of edge glued panels are available?
Lamtech manufactures edge glued panels in accordance with the Swedish standard for furniture grade edge glued panels. This means the panels are produced in different grades. Lamtech is a craft based timber manufacturer where hands on supervision is an integral part of the process. In practice, any timber that has warped, or does not meet the required quality level, is continuously removed during production. This careful process results in timber products that rarely lead to claims.
Today, our edge glued panels are available in three grades, most commonly A, B and C. One face is usually better than the other and is typically supplied as A/B, A/C or B/C. If your product or manufacturing process requires matching faces, we can also supply panels with the same grade on both sides. We can accommodate most requirements.
How do you choose the right grade of edge glued panels?
The right grade depends on what you are making. As a general guide, choose A/C for fine joinery and B/C for applications such as walls or interior ceilings. It also works well for hobby and DIY projects. Companies, joinery workshops and manufacturing businesses looking for a long term supplier of edge glued panels are always welcome to contact us for an informal discussion about volumes, grades and lead times. With us, you get a Swedish timber product manufactured responsibly, with consistent quality throughout the production process.
Which grade of edge glued panels is best?
That depends entirely on what you need for your application. Lamtech supplies high quality edge glued panels to companies across Sweden and can tailor both dimensions and thicknesses to match your required volumes. We combine solid craftsmanship with modern production equipment to deliver the extra level of precision and finish your project may require.
Why are edge glued panels ideal for worktops?
Edge glued pine is both attractive and hard wearing. It makes a worktop that can be re sanded when needed and, when oiled, helps resist stains, water and food residues. Lamtech does not manufacture one off worktops, but our standard range is always available from stock.
How can I avoid cracking?
Cracking most often occurs when timber is exposed to large variations in air humidity and temperature. Indoors, try to keep humidity and temperature as stable as possible. Outdoors, cracks tend to appear on south facing cladding and bargeboards, and this is a natural reaction in wood when it is exposed to the sun and its drying effect.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
You can order the quantities you need from us. Standard products in smaller quantities are usually available from stock.
If you want the cladding supplied painted, the lead time is typically 2 to 4 weeks depending on season. For special products and larger orders, the lead time is usually 3 to 4 weeks.
